SMITE 2 shows the future of Conquest
Titan Forge Games has released details about “Conquest,” the first playable mode in SMITE 2.
In an in-depth video, Senior Level Designer Matthew Barcas and Lead Environment Artist Aaron Kim discuss the challenge of remaking Conquest in SMITE after a decade of development to give players a completely new experience in the upcoming sequel.
The Titan Forge team invites players to experience the changes to Conquest firsthand as SMITE 2 prepares for its first alpha weekends this spring.
The team has focused on the core components of the game mode, improving lanes, towers, minions and jungle camps. Compared to SMITE, SMITE 2’s card allows for greater creative collaboration.
This allows for more detailed changes without having to rework the entire layout.
The interactive elements have been overhauled to deepen player engagement and strategy.
Jungle Campers and the Fire Giant now level up with each defeat, with the buffs also providing increasing player rewards. The Gold Fury now has greater late-game importance as it grants permanent advantages to winning teams. Additionally, interacting with the Warhorn will strengthen the team’s servants.
SMITE 2 is the next generation of the popular third-person action MOBA SMITE. The sequel was developed from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5 and is intended to offer a truly next-gen experience.
