Sniper Elite 5 is already fast approaching, and with its day one premiere on Xbox Game Pass, Rebellion has revealed several plans for the next installment in the saga. More concretely In an interviewthe developers confessed that the most difficult challenge in the development of this production was the configuration of the frames per second on different consoles such as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5, since, remember, the fifth installment of this ip will be multigenerational.
Xbox Series X and PS5 versions of the game will run at 6fps and 4K while the Xbox Series S version will also run at the same frame rate but with a resolution of 1440p. Already in the case of Xbox One and PS4, both consoles will receive the game capped at 30 fps, but due to the type of game pattern of the Rebellion title, this may not affect the experience as much. The resolutions for the older console generation have yet to be revealed, but they will most likely hit 1080p or 1440p depending on which version of Xbox One or PS4 we’re talking about.
Sniper Elite 5 crosses the technical boundary of its previous editions
As for the rest of the technical part of the game, we learned that the developers used photogrammetry to create different aspects of the game, and thus achieve a brutal level of detail, something that had already been seen in the DLC Sniper Elite 4 with very good results. .
“This method allows us to achieve much more detail in the design of sets. We scan everything from rocks to trees, tanks and other vehicles which will add a lot of immersion to the game.
If you look at weapons, for example, they have a much higher level of detail. They appear to have been used and are recreated to be as faithful as possible to their real-world counterpart.”
Sniper Elite 5 will arrive this May 26 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, PS4 and PS5.
