In the latest Space Marine 2 patch 4.0, players were unhappy with the balance of weapons and enemies. This patch, which added an additional mission and brought higher difficulty to cooperative play, also forced friendly characters to stay together to survive. Saber is reversing all that now with the new patch 4.1 and also wants to add public servers for testing.
That same October 23, Dmitriy Grigorenko, director of the game, published the patch notes on the official game forums. They also explained in detail the changes in the points that players were complaining about the most.
For example, Grigorenko says that the idea behind increasing the number of deadlier “Extremis” enemies was to make the game more difficult without simply increasing the enemies’ health pools. The plan was to make the game’s second hardest difficulty level, Ruthless, more difficult. However, the change made all levels more difficult and also made Ruthless incredibly boring. Saber is therefore reversing the change on all difficulties below Ruthless, while adjusting the spawn rate on that difficulty to be between 4.0 and pre-4.0.
Space Marine 2 version 4.1 finally upgrades all Bolter weapons. This has been a request from many players since the game’s release in September, as these weapons are iconic to the game. Warhammer 40kbut they felt weak in the sci-fi shooter. Here are the weapon upgrades:

- Bolt Action Rifle -> Damage increased by 10%

The game director confirms that they were testing gameplay modifiers, and while they are still in the beta phase of the process, they plan to make gameplay modifiers.
