From Square Enix, they announced the development of a new opus of Ocean star. The development is carried out by the study tri-Ace Inc. Taking advantage of the 25th anniversary of the saga, they announced that their new opus Divine Force, it will be ready to be played in 2022, without specifying a precise date. The launch will take place for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S consoles, as well as for Playstation and PC (Steam). They will offer more information on this new opus in spring 2022.
This announcement revealed a lot of information about the story, new characters, combat system, and exploration. We are again in front of an Action-JRPG with a setting mixing fantasy and science fiction. We will have a cast of playable characters whose stories will develop alongside the main plot. The combat system promises to be thrilling and with simple, instinctive controls. Exploration will be free, on foot or by plane, through the different areas of the game.
A new story for this sixth installment of the Star Ocean saga
Star Ocean: The Divine Force, will be the sixth title of the saga. This time the plot begins when the Pangalactic Federation, a former defender of universe justice, turned evil, known today for subduing the planets against their will. During a transport mission for a family of passengers belonging to the Pangalactic Federation, the ship Ydas commanded by our protagonist Raymond is attacked by Astoria. Then, they all have to leave the ship with Chloe, Raymond’s teammate. The two will land with their escape pods on an inhospitable planet, in separate locations full of hostile animals. From that moment the adventure will begin, in which they will discover that they still have to escape the shadow of the Pangalactic Federation..
