As of last week, you can download Star Wars Battlefront 2 for free and forever from the Epic Games Store, something that made us all very happy, especially Star Wars fans. The ones who don’t seem very happy are the EA infrastructure folks who have had more of a headache with the substantial increase in player numbers.
The day after the Epic Games donation, many players report receiving 623 and 918 errors that prevent them from playing games online, or simply kick them off the server once the fight has started.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 at full capacity
The support account of EA and Twitter initially posted a message advising that they had already realized the error and would add more capacity in the following days to resolve these issues. What is a little unbelievable is that these steps were not taken in advance knowing that the number of players was going to increase too much after Epic’s donation.

Sit down, here we are! An incredible number of players joined us during our @EpicGames Store free week and we’re scaling up new servers to welcome you all to the battlefront.– EA Help (@EAHelp) January 15, 2021
Although a few hours later from EA, they announced that everything was solvedUntil a few hours ago, the barrage of messages on Twitter continued to inform that a new error, 721, is preventing most players from connecting to the servers. We’ll see if EA can fix this quickly. May the force be with you.
