State of Decay Commissions New t-shirt in support of NAACP for Black History Month

At Undead Labs, we make games about survival. The heart and strength of the community underlies State of Decay games, and it is by design. We believe this is also true in the real world and that we do our best work when we get together. Undead Labs is proud to support the Black Community and Team Xbox in celebrating Black History Month.

From today everything State of decay 2 Players will notice a new item in their game after the last update. A free cosmetic t-shirt designed by the artist Ty Ferrell are automatically added to your character cabinet in honor of Black History Month.

This original t-shirt design is now also available as a limited edition physical t-shirt official Xbox Gear Shop, with profits from the sale donated to the NAACP ($ 5.50 per shirt). Neither Undead Labs nor Microsoft will benefit from selling these t-shirts. In addition, Undead Labs will make a one-time donation of $ 5,000 to the NAACP. Reprints are not planned as these commemorative T-shirts are only available from Monday February 8th to Monday March 1st, 2021.

We hired Black Artist Ty Ferrell to create the original t-shirt design for us, inspired by his passion for social justice, NAACPs “We are ready to dieCampaign and according to the themes and motifs of decay. Ty was deeply moved by the feeling of a bold stance against the ongoing unnecessary loss of life, so he drew parallels between this defiant proclamation of wanting to live and surviving the zombie apocalypse.

This striking original artwork depicts a figure kneeling in peaceful protest. Behind him, raised fists form a shape reminiscent of the well-known State of Decay eagle logo. Below him is the motif of State of Expiry: Year One Survival Edition.
