Passive skills can also be added. All skills can be used in any class as long as they meet the required attributes.
Up to seven extensive endgame systems can be played
Completing the campaign is just the beginning. The endgame in Path of Exile 2 includes countless areas in different biomes, powerful crafting, challenging bosses, unique battles and much more. New paths can be unlocked and the world of Wraeclast can be further explored.
As you progress through the endgame, there will be access to special passive trees that can increase card rewards and change how various endgame mechanics work. While these trees make the maps more rewarding, the difficulty also increases.
After completing the game, the Cruel Difficulty mode is unlocked, in which the game becomes even more difficult; The monsters are more difficult to kill in Cruel Difficulty mode, but drop better loot. The mode also has a few surprises in store. The cruel difficulty level will be removed after the launch of full access and replaced with additional acts.
Some of the key highlights of Path of Exile 2 include:
Trial of the Sekhemas
Ascending in Path of Exile 2 requires completing major trials that will take place throughout the campaign. The Trial of Sekhemas is a grueling gauntlet with rogue-like mechanics that test strength, will, cunning and patience. There are challenges to complete and rewards to earn in each room. On each floor, players must fight powerful bosses that will test their limits.
The Trial of Sekhemas extends into the endgame and offers more content, progression mechanics, unique rewards that can only be obtained in the Trial.
The Trial of the Chaos God
While exploring the Vaal Jungle, players will come across the Temple of Chaos, which offers another opportunity for advancement in Path of Exile 2. To enter the trial, one needs a token from a strange being known only as the Trialmaster. As you enter each room of the Trial, the Trial Master will fill it with dangers to test your endurance. After each room a decision must be made. Either you decide to get the rewards that have been earned so far. Or you can choose to take more risk to increase the rewards.
expedition
Kalguuran settlers have discovered ancient burial sites containing lost artifacts from Verisium and want help excavating them (with explosives).
The Kalguurans have marked the locations where the relics can be found. Explosives must be placed as best as possible to dig up as many as possible. There's just one problem: corruption has brought the corpses of the ancestors back to life, so a small cleanup may need to be carried out before the artifacts can be retrieved. Remains can also be found. Each remnant destroyed makes subsequent monsters stronger, but also more rewarding.
ritual
Ritual altars are sacrificial sites built by the mysterious king in the mists. Ritual altars demand tribute. Each monster slaughtered in the circle feeds the altar. If you touch it after the sacrifice, the ritual is started. The monsters that were just killed are revived by the dark magic of the King in the Mist, and players must fight for survival. You can then use the tribute you pay to the altar to purchase powerful items.
delirium
Some regions are affected by madness. A mysterious creature has a special interest in them. When one touches a mirror, the mist of delirium spreads over the entire area and infects the mind. Players must stay within the nebula to maintain the nightmare – which is as profitable as it is terrifying. Anything they kill increases the rewards you receive. However, the deeper you go into the fog, the stronger the monsters are.
climax
As they explore, players may come across a massive fortress, at the center of which is a pillar of flame and ash rising from underground. It is surrounded by a huge labyrinth that is full of dangers.
Many mechanics will appear in the endgame areas. As players progress, they can earn points that can be spent on improving their skill trees. This allows them to customize their endgame experience. There is much more to discover and learn once the storyline campaign is completed.
