Happy Halloween, survivors! My name is Julia Wolbach, co-founder and chief operating officer of Dead Drop Studios. Today we launch our next-generation survival horror bloodbath. Outbreak Shades of Horror Chromatic Spliton Xbox Series X|S. As Detective Lydia Daniels, players begin on the eve of a massive zombie apocalypse in a sprawling sewer system beneath the town of Cypress Ridge. Players must explore, solve puzzles and use their limited resources to survive in an ever-changing world filled with dangerous enemy zombies and a recurring, giant monster.
Dare to explore an underground labyrinth alone and afraid.
Initially, players are unarmed and at the mercy of the environment before discovering a repertoire of melee and firearms weapons such as the lead pipe and shotgun. These and other key items give players a fighting chance, while also opening up new and secret areas to explore across the game’s vast maps. Resourceful players can find crafting items to create healing items, ammunition, and even valuable ink to save their game. For example, players can use unique types of gunpowder and shell casings to craft different types of ammunition, or in a pinch, players can combine gunpowder with a virus kit to craft antiviral items. Discover a variety of different crafting combinations to craft the valuable supplies you need to survive the zombie storm!
Play in third person or through Lydia’s eyes.
Players can switch between first- and third-person perspectives at any time as they fight for survival in a ruthless world. If you want to fully immerse yourself in Lydia’s journey, the first-person perspective may be right for you. If you prefer a more traditional survival horror experience, the third-person perspective gives you a full insight into your character. Use melee combat to stagger enemies and sneak past, or use your limited bullets to place targeted shots that can fragment and severely hamper the zombies’ offensive options. Be warned, as enemy zombies can stun or even knock you over, leaving you open to devastating blows! Explore your tools and use them carefully to open new paths and discover a variety of secrets, such as bonus crafting items and more.
Strategize and think quickly to make the most of your limited items.
Lydia’s supplies will be limited, so she must find materials to give herself a fighting chance! Combine gunpowder with other items to create ink for storage, items for healing, extra bullets, antiviral solutions, and more. Lydia can’t afford to shoot first and think later. So think carefully about how you use your items! Will you consume raw gunpowder in an act of desperation to save yourself in the moment, or will you wait to find an empty ink container so you can save your progress? Inventory space is also limited. So take the time to optimize your bag space and place excess items in linked item boxes that you occasionally find in the game for later use. Keep in mind that if you open your inventory to combine components, the game will pause. However, in order to reload your weapon, you must find a safe place to hide in the cruel, chaotic underground of Cypress Ridge!
Saturating side content expands the breadth of the game.
Once you’re done with Lydia’s campaign, there’s even more fun to have! Unlock an additional Wild Campaign for a more action-oriented playstyle. Try out Onslaught and Besieged modes for arcade zombie fun against tons of enemies on unique maps. Looming Dread mode challenges you to survive and overcome a unique scenario as quickly as possible. You can also replay Lydia’s campaign in New Game Plus to keep all of your upgrades from the end of the story, or enjoy the built-in developer commentary!
