If Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka wants one thing for the future, it’s a Sonic the Hedgehog RPG.
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood was once an RPG for the Nintendo DS, but the only RPG that Sonic scurries through was not developed by SEGA. In an interview with Good Vibes Gaming, Takashi Iizuka revealed that it would be nice to one day develop a Sonic the Hedgehog RPG in-house.
The Sonic boss said that he personally appreciates role-playing games. The RPG format is a lot of fun. He has been thinking about the fact that no one has worked on a Sonic RPG for 30 years and asks himself why. How have we managed without RPGs for 30 years?
That’s exactly why he hopes to be able to work on a Sonic RPG before he retires, although SEGA currently has no plans for this.
By the way, the next Sonic the Hedgehog game is Sonic X Shadow Generations, which will be released on October 25, 2024.
