Publisher Team17 gets out of the tactical shooter Ready or Not because of a school shootout and will no longer support the developers.
VOID Interactive lost the publisher for its SWAT game Ready or Not after comments suggested it would involve a school shootout.
The game was released in Early Access on December 17th, but in a statement a few days later on Twitter, VOID Interactive announced that it had split from publisher Team17.
“VOID Interactive and Team17 have mutually agreed that Team17 will no longer publish Ready or Not. We are confident that this is the right path for the future of Ready or Not, thank Team17 for the partnership and wish them every success with their range of games! “
In a follow-up tweet it says: “We would also like to assure everyone that we are sticking to our vision of Ready or Not as a hardcore tactical shooter. We are continuously scanning player feedback and will be releasing patches / updates on a regular basis in the coming weeks and months. “

Although no reasons have been given so far, one of the game’s developers responded to one Reddit post, which asked if the game would include a level with a school shootout, with the words “You can assume it will be”.
Ready or Not is a shooter in which “SWAT police units are called in to defuse hostile and confrontational situations,” as it says on the Steam page of the game.
Team17 made a statement to Kotaku:
“Team17 Digital and VOID Interactive have mutually agreed that Ready or Not will no longer be published by Team17 Digital,” said a spokesman for Team17. “We wish the VOID Interactive team all the best for the future and the further development of the game. We have no further comment at the moment. “
