A terminally ill fan has now had his wish granted to be able to play Borderlands 4.
Caleb McAlpine is probably the first outsider to see and play the new Borderlands 4. But the background to this story is a sad one.
Caleb has stage 4 cancer and likely less than two years to live.
As a fan of the Borderlands series, he made the attempt and asked developer Gearbox earlier this year for the chance to play Borderlands 4 before he died.
Gearbox now granted Caleb5 his wish and the developer flew him in “First Class” last week. In a post on Reddit, he told the community about his trip and thanked the developers who made it possible for him.
By the way, Borderlands 4 was incredible, as he says.
Caleb wrote down Reddit: “Gearbox flew me and a friend in 1st class on the 20th of this month and we got to tour the studio and meet an amazing bunch of people, from some of the developers of all the Borderlands games to Randy, the CEO.”
“We got to play what they have so far for Borderlands 4 and it was incredible. I don't know if I'll be there when the game comes out, but I want to thank you all for your love and support and for helping to make this possible. It was truly an incredible experience and it was just great.”
“We were staying at the Omni at the Star (the Dallas Cowboys headquarters) and the hotel also wanted to do something nice and gave us a VIP tour of the entire facility. Needless to say, as a Lions fan, I had a lot to talk about.”
“Thank you everyone.”
