It is no surprise to anyone that during the first quarter of the year we received a generous amount of games. This was evident and, for our part, we leave you what were in our opinion the best launches of the first quarter, which you can see at this link.
Once again, we find ourselves in a privileged position. I mention this because the second quarter of the year is over and it is time to take stock again, in which we can reveal which games broke it and left their mark.
The best games of Q2 2024
From Generation Xbox, we are going to share with you the games that have set the bar high compared to other versions. For this reason, only the best ones that have passed through this editorial team will enter this selection. Let’s see what we have:
April, a very good month
Although we were not able to see a large number of games that surprised us, we still saw two very interesting proposals, each inspired by a different style and appreciated by all of us.
Another Crab Treasure – 88/100
Souls-style games are very fashionable these days and, for this reason, we have received a proposal that seems charming. But make no mistake, you are dealing with a difficult and very good game. My colleague David leaves you his analysis on this link.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau – 81/100
The Metroidvania subgenre is very popular and I consider myself a fan. This game was supposed to have the virtues of this style, but deviated from it to be more of a platformer than anything else. With a very personal story that captivates you, leaving us with a beautiful message, here is my analysis.

April was a calm, balanced and correct month at the same time, leaving the way open for the following month. For our part, the mark we can give it is 80/100, correct but not exceptional.
May, a month with the technical ceiling in consoles
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 – 93/100
The long-awaited day had arrived: we received a game that pushed the technical ceiling of current consoles to the maximum. Leaving the Xbox name high, with a complex, personal and very visceral story, it is one of the candidates for the best of 2024. My colleague Pedro leaves you an excellent analysis from this link.

Sandy soil – 83/100
The work that came to us after the departure of Akira Toriyama and that calmed us down, offering us a simple but very charming story, with a very particular adventure that should not be missed if you are a follower of the works of this famous mangaka. From here, I leave you my analysis.

Horizon Chase 2 – 87/100
Driving games are always wonderful, but those that have a more retro style and remind us of that nostalgic past are more special. This game is a charm not to be missed and my colleague Gabriel shares his analysis from this link.

Without fear of being wrong, this month was a pleasant surprise and one of the best of this second quarter. The quality is reflected and the return of Senua is everything we could have dreamed of. A 95/100 is the appropriate grade for this month.
June, a JRPG that can handle everyone
Many games arrived during this month, but the one that took the glory was the arrival of a dream JRPG that, despite being a unique game, is enough to stand out throughout the month.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance – 92/100
Atlus is one of the best companies and the one responsible for bringing us the acclaimed JRPG genre. On this occasion, they have brought one of their best games to Xbox, to show us that they are always at the top with demanding and fun titles, to the point of not wanting to leave it. I share with you my analysis from this link.

On this occasion, the grade we propose for this month is 90/100. Without a doubt, we are in a solid month that also has a surprise in store for us that I present to you below.
MEGA Honorable Mention for DLC of the Century
We couldn’t say goodbye without first leaving you with a DLC that deserves to be mentioned. It’s perhaps not fair to place it with the other games, since it’s not a new game per se, even if it seems like one.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree – 100/100
Here is the Elden Ring DLC, with Shadow of the Erdtree, considered a masterpiece by players and the media. If it were a separate game, it would surely be the GOTY of the year and we are not joking with this comment. A masterpiece not to be missed. My colleague David shares his analysis with you.

The question still remains: will we see each other again in the future? Yes, that’s the short answer (we’ll see you in October). Finally, our last word on the best month: in definitely, there is equality between May and June. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 And Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree These are the best of the best from this quarter, although as we mentioned, there is still a lot to see in 2024.
