This new year can only offer us more and more games. It is true that it seems that it will not live up to what we saw in 2023, but that does not mean that some productions are exceptional, insofar as they can fulfill their main function, that of entertainment .
The first quarter of the year is over and that only means we can get our first look at the games that dazzled us during that time. Fortunately, from Xbox, the proposals are excellent and we think you will have been able to take advantage of them.
The best games of the first quarter of 2024
On this occasion we are changing the dynamic compared to last year, we will only condense the titles that met with critics and the media at a global level. In this way we will leave aside Against: Operations Galuga or Alone in the Dark, which were well received by our editorial staff.
Each month will have a section that will refer to its most characteristic features, we hope it will please everyone.
January, a month with big names
One of the most powerful months we can see this quarter is because there are three representatives who have the pedigree to do so. In addition, these are bastions that are part of the great heritage of this industry.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
The long-awaited return of the Prince of Persia franchise has been wonderful, leaving us with a worthy representative of the Metroidvania subgenre. Leaving the work of Ubisoft Montpellier very high, with a delivery that seems fresh and current, you can read my analysis from this link.

Like a dragon: infinite wealth
Sega is at its best and we comment on this due to the large number of IPs it has, with Like a Dragon being a benchmark for what Yakuza once was. With a longer sequel and with a quality that only the Japanese can offer us, you can read the analysis of my colleague Gabriel from this link.

Tekken 8
During 2023 Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1 were released, all that was missing was the last great representative of the genre and what a way to do it by Tekken, with a new engine and a combat system that includes improvements and of which a clear difference is felt in evolution, while preserving its essence. Find out from this link, with the analysis of my colleague Gabriel.

Our rating this month is approximately 95/100 and it’s not due to the score of the matches or their average, but rather something personal. Highlighting a remarkable start to the year with solid titles and various genres, Metroidvania, RPG and fightingNot bad to start 2024.
February, a solid JRPG
This month we have been able to see a large number of titles, however, their quality has not reached the necessary quotas to enter this entry, leaving the way to only one title.
Persona 3 Reload
Atlus and Sega continue their domination of 2024, now with this game from the Persona series which offers us improvements compared to the original, something to replay and enjoy. My partner, Javier, shares his analysis of the game with us from this link.

We couldn’t agree more to leave this month with a valuation of 80/100. This is due to the scarcity of large proposals. Don’t get me wrong, Persona 3 Reload is impressive, but it’s not a new game and it needed more companions to make February great.
March with variety and good balance
During this last month of the quarter we got a good portion of the games, among which we have two names that stood out and completely dazzled us. With balance and variety.
Lord Unicorn
An RTS or tactical action game with remarkable artistic and visual work is the perfect cocktail to leave us with a fun work and a very special surprise. Atlus and Sega surprise us once again with the quality and pleasure, my colleague Santiago shares his analysis with us from this link.

Dragon’s Dogma 2
After a long wait, the great Dragon’s Dogma returns, with an immersive game in which Capcom put all its heart, with exceptional work, becoming one of the best games of the year and which fans appreciated. My colleague Adrián delights us with his analysis from this link.

Capcom achieved this with Dragon’s Dogma II and its long-awaited return, and Atlus’ surprise with Unicorn Overlord, with two solid titles. Our personal assessment is 95/100quite remarkable for us.
Will we see each other again in the future? Yes, that’s the short answer (we’ll see you again in July) and we’ll continue to analyze these great games that remain to be discovered in the months to come. Finally, our final word regarding the best month, in There is definitely a tie between January and Marchas the best so far, although as we mentioned, there is still a lot to see in 2024.
