Divided and without wise leadership, the last pagans of Europe seem doomed, but Prince Algirdas and his loyal brother Kestutis refuse to bow to the looters. Can they fend off the Crusaders and then fight with the grandchildren of Genghis Khan – the fearsome horsemen of the Golden Horde? In this c ampaign, you play as a Lithuanian.
Jadwiga – Sent away by her mother and forcibly separated from the young man she loved, Jadwiga ascended the Polish throne as a child. In a time of endless war, she must forge a future for her kingdom while fighting with the will of formidable leaders like Jogaila and Vytautas the Great. Can the beloved star of the Poles realize their vision of a mighty, united Poland-Lithuania, or will the incessant whirlpool of war bring both empires to ruin again? You play as Poland in this campaign.
Jan Zizka – The one-eyed Jan Zizka spent his youth as a mercenary fighting for honor and money, but his fate changed forever when he heard the sermons of the reformer Jan Hus in Prague. Solidify the legacy of one of the greatest gener als in history by bringing simple farmers together into highly disciplined units and leading them to victory over the knightly armies of the Holy Roman Emperor. In this campaign you play as a bohemian.
2 new civilizations
The poles – The Poles are a cavalry civilization. While their western neighbors employed deadly companies of heavily armored cavalry, the Poles used their strengths to evolve into more of what modern eyes might call medium cavalry. Although they could not always triumph over their rival counterparts on an individual basis, they emphasized maneuverability, organization, and sheer numbers at a time when warfare was diverging from the typical medieval model.
The unique Polish unit is the Obuch, a brutal infantryman whose war hammer tears apart the armor of enemy units. Obuchs are best used against expensive, heavily armored units that could otherwise pose a deadly threat to the rest of your army.
The Poles also share a regional unit with the Lithuanians, their partners in their late medieval community. This unit, the Winged Hussar, is a powerful upgrade of the Light Cavalry, replacing the Hussar upgrade that many other civilizations have.
In addition, the Poles have a unique building, the Folwark, which replaces the mill and increases the efficiency of the nearby farms.
After all, the Poles have two unique technologies: Szlachta Privileges and Lechitic Legacy. Both give a strong boost to their cavalry-cavalry line-up.
The bohemians – The Bohemians are a gunpowder and monk civilization. Threatened both militarily and ideologically from almost all sides, the Bohemians reacted with groundbreaking innovations in both areas. Novel weapons, combat tactics, and defensive strategies destroyed the numerous feudal and professional armies of their invading rivals, while scientific thought and debate ushered in one of the earliest successful social revolutions in early modern European history. Bohemian armies made up for the lack of sheer raw strength with an uncanny ability to outsmart, outmaneuver and counter their opponents.
The first Bohemian unique unit is the Hussite chariot, a deadly forerunner of the modern tank. Hussite chariots have powerful firepower and are exceptional at protecting the units behind them.
The second unique Bohemian unit is the Houfnice, a powerful upgrade to the bomb cannon. Houfnices are adept at blowing up enemy fortifications and formations to pieces.
The Bohemians have two unique technologies: wagon castle tactics and Hussite reform. The former increases its list of gunpowder associations while the latter improves its monks and monasteries.
