We are already in the middle of 2022, a few months that have been marked by great releases like Elden Ring or the return of great titles like Dying Light, the famous zombie game developed by the Polish studio Techland.
While the studio is already busy creating its next adventure, let’s not forget that they promised up to 5 years of content for Dying Light 2 with new events, DLCs, expansions, and more. A few months after its launch, we are already starting to know the future plans of the game and where its first expansions will take place.
Dying Light 2 will have several expansions, the first near the city
In a recent interview conducted by VG247lead designer Tymon Smektala has revealed information about expansion sizes and future content that may be coming to the game.
Don’t expect me to take you to space or anything. It might happen in year 3 or 4. Our PR guy is looking at me funny because in other interviews I’ve said something hypothetical about Dying Light 3, but the headlines were “Dying Light 3 Confirmed̶ 1;, so I’m not confirming that we’re going to be taking players to space or taking players to Atlantis.
Smektala went on to talk about the most immediate content, one that we might receive in a few months or in its first year:
For 1 and 2, they are different places, but they are all in the same universe, the same headspace. They are connected to what is happening in the city and start in the city of Villedor, everything is generally from the same district. These are new locations.
I think in those 5 years the game will have become really huge. I think that’s all I can reveal at this point. The game will definitely grow for more locations and more content, but it’s too early to talk about specifics. We don’t want to promise something, then change the plan and take the conversion out of context.
