Co-op games are once again all the rage among users. And in 2021, we will experience a real boom in this style of titles, with releases as powerful as Gotham: Knights, Aliens: Fireteam or Second Extinction. Games that are committed to bringing players together in the face of a common threat, so that they can achieve the objectives by joining forces, as we did in the past with split-screen games with our parents, brothers, cousins Or friends (hope they will come back in the near future).
For this reason, in Xbox Generation we wanted to compile the five most anticipated co-op titles (although they can also be played alone) in 2021. And yes, we couldn’t miss our urge to kill aliens and dinosaurs. .
Extinction of the face – Second extinction
The first title of this list is mandatory for whoever writes these lines: Second Extinction. The title Avalanche Studios was announced at the Xbox Game Showcase in May of last year and has already left some good impressions. Today, almost a year later, we know that it will arrive on Xbox Game Preview this spring and exclusively for the Xbox ecosystem (consoles and PC).
In this first-person shooter, we have to face creatures that we thought were already extinct: the dinosaurs. But, since nothing is simple, they will have powerful mutations that will make life impossible for us. The best? Being able to team up with up to two other friends.
Fourth Street Cleanup – Back 4 Blood
In this list could not Black 4 Blood, the spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead, and which will arrive this summer. A compulsory title for all fans of cooperatives, zombies and shooters. An action-packed FPS, where we will find a story mode and competitive multiplayer in which we can play as infected.
In addition, we can share our experience with up to 3 other colleagues in an attempt to survive the new Zombie Apocalypse, where we play the role of “Cleaners” against the new horde.
Enoch awaits you – Outriders
The third title on the list will be the first to hit the market, as Outriders hits the Xbox Series X on April 1 | S, Xbox One, and PC. The new People Can Fly game will put us in the shoes of an Outriders, who wakes up on a distant planet, mired in a war where we must investigate a strange and distant signal.
With a mix of shooter and RPG, Outriders is billed as one of the most anticipated games of 2021. In addition, we will be able to enjoy its more than 40 hours of history in the company of two other friends.
Time to face the Xenomorphs – Aliens: Fireteam
The last title to be announced on this list was Aliens: Fireteam, a new proposition within the film franchise created by Ridle Scott. This time around, we’re leaving behind the purest terror and survival of Alien: Isolation to make way for confrontation with a full swarm of Xenomorphs.
A title designed to play with three other friends, with whom you have to collaborate in perfect synchronization if you want to survive each wave of Xenomorphs. A cooperative title where we can face each type of alien with new weapons and abilities.
Fight and survive for the Empire
The last title on our list today could not have been other than Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. One of the most anticipated games in the writing of Xbox Generation and of which we have already told you five things that we hope to see in the title when it releases exclusively in the Xbox ecosystem. A title that will put us in the shoes of a recognition team that should not return.
And, as you might think, we can return to the Imperial Capital if we manage to survive Dark Level 6 of the Hive. How? ‘Or’ What? Cooperate with our companions, imbue our skills to perfection and above all, obtain many weapons from the corpses of our enemies.
Without a doubt, these five co-op titles are among the most anticipated games of this year. For one reason or another, every game will have a lot to say when it launches. It is true that we could include many more, like Hood: Outlaws & Legends and its PvPvE proposition, but these five titles will be the ones that give the most to talk about.
And you, do you already have your squad of soldiers ready to take on each of these challenges?
