The Hard 90s Dust of the Cardpocalypse, Now on the Xbox One

90s, Cardpocalypse, Dust, hard, Xbox

Talk to any kid in the early 90s and 90s who are fully absorbed! There was a hole in the ozone layer, the war was raging across the globe, they had lost the voice of our generation to Kurt Cobain, and the parents were just as bad.

But talk to these 90s kids now and 10 years! Blossom, Pogs, Ren & Stimpy – never bet on before or after. Lots of poor filtering material and all the happy moments in the middle have gone from memories. Nostalgia, that painful past sensation, used to be treated as a sickness but now we wear it as a badge of honor, caused by a song or film or toy.

For our latest game, Cardpocalypse, it's not enough to kick people, we just wanted to grab it with a Hypercolor T-shirt and, like Kris Kross in front of us, make it jump, jump. We wanted to remind players what it was like to be a kid in the 90's, than any other Buzzfeed series. Remember the time when your favorite game was banned at school, or when that one kid called the teacher Mom? Back then you wouldn't be looking for interviews and tips online, but you would have to wait for the latest game magazine to come out (or skip the expensive phone line).

We filled the game with all the vibes that made it fun at the age of 10, those years before teenage genius came in and the costumes were black. Our theme song draws from late afternoon cartoons like TMNT and Pokémon, and everyone who is a genius has their time in the spotlight with some fantastic intro music – some songs are very catchy. We are filled with the art of the game with easter eggs — as many eggs as we can to give eagle-eyed players plenty of warm moments of "oh, my god, remember those times". Game-within-a-game, Mega Mutant Pets, our contribution to the business card games we grew up with, many of which also encouraged us to start making games from scratch. And the stories and ratings are like a time of shared memories at school all told about Jess' first week at Dudsdale Elementary.

Cardpocalypse

There was an overflow of & # 39; 80s themed retro and the timing looks good in the & # 39; 90s again considering having a sunny day in the sun, we are so happy to have Cardpocalypse as part of this. It was an exciting time to remember while building the game. Hopefully there is more to come before we start seeing the articles of "you were a kid in your 20s when …" or until "OK, Millenial" begins to catch on. One thing is for sure, nostalgia will never grow old
