Gilgamesh, King of Uruk, steps his way onto the battlefield of the gods in BeatThe latest update – available now!
As the hero of an incredible Sumerian epic, Gilgamesh is a seeking, adventurous king. in the Beathe competes against a tyrannical Tiamat. His gods had whispered of Tiamat’s return and his fate to defeat her. With sword in hand, Gilgamesh eagerly leaps into battle, hoping to accomplish his final task.
When creating Gilgamesh’s visual design, the team wanted to make sure he felt like royalty. Looking at ancient art, particularly how ancient civilizations portrayed their kings, we were able to incorporate the characteristics and culture of the Babylonian people. During the artistic process we had clear goals: a strong, healthy male figure who would be culturally correct. To balance his identity as a king and adventurer, Gilgamesh is adorned with precious stones and a crown and at the same time ready to fight. He wears a sword and armor. If you look closely, his armor includes a lion and a bull, both of which are references from his epic. It has been said that Gilgamesh acquired powerful artifacts in his travels and quests that we wanted to present as a general theme.
Gilgamesh is a warrior who takes a practical approach to combat. He has a lot of brute force and is quite a tactician. His passive ability is a unique task that requires him to venture into a map location. If Gilgamesh successfully reaches the location, he will receive a random level 1 item. I pointed this out earlier, but Gilgamesh actually has a drop kick ability that knocks his opponents back. This ability goes well with his Ultimate: Winds of Shamash. Gilgamesh calls on the god Shamash to create a wind ring that slows down and harms enemies. The drop kick throws enemies in the middle of the wind. Be sure to try this combo and let me know how it feels!
This update also introduces the first Living Conquest Map update: The Rising Storm. Tiamat is offended by King Gilgamesh’s challenge and conjures up an intense thunderstorm that covers the map. You will find that the darker skybox and lighting change as you play. She also commands her hanging gardens to grow with dangerous plants. Vine Walls introduces a new game mechanic and appears in certain places in the jungle. Players have to destroy the walls with simple attacks and will not be able to overcome these obstacles. And finally, let me remind everyone that the Talons of Tyranny event is still on! New to the event are Headless Horror Chiron, Lady of the Sea Discordia, and Tormented Soul Medusa, the latest reward. Don’t forget that you can get all of these skins and any future Talons of Tyranny skins using the “Buy All” feature. This will unlock the Level 5 Chaac Skin of the Forgotten Gods instantly.
I hope everyone enjoys playing as Gilgamesh and I can’t wait to see you all on the battlefield.
