Electronic Arts decides to end the automotive franchise
Driving simulator enthusiasts surely knew project cara firm commitment to bring simulation closer to the automotive world of video consoles, which was previously reserved for PC users.
This premise is what Project Cars has maintained in all its deliveries, the acceptance of which was more than acceptable despite the presence of great rivals such as Forza Motorsport.
However, the game developed by Slightly Crazy Studios received terrible news from the publisher, EA, which decided to stop all development and investment in Project Car.
Electronic Arts needs to focus its efforts and as the company indicated after analyzing what Project Cars could bring to the car games portfolio, the best thing to do was to stop and direct efforts elsewhere.
An EA spokesperson had this to say:
“Today we are internally announcing an update to our racing portfolio. After an evaluation of the upcoming Project CARS title and its long-term growth potential, we have made the decision to halt all development and investment in franchise.
Decisions like these are very difficult, but they allow us to prioritize where we think we have the best opportunity to create experiences that fans will love.”
Regarding the future of the workers involved in the development of Project Cars, the spokesperson himself indicated that they will be assigned to other work teams within the company, so no layoffs are considered in the company.
After Electronic Arts purchased Codemasters, one of the studios that completed the purchase was Slightly Mad Studios, focused on the development of Project Cars.
