The Pedestrian Review – Watch for the signs!

Pedestrian, Review, signs, watch

The pedestrian has landed on our Xbox consoles and we want to talk about their curious puzzles

When it seems that everything is invented in the beautiful world of video games, studies such as Skookum Arts breaking a spear in favor of originality. The puzzle genre is reinvented thanks to his latest project called The Pedestrian. And while it is true that the game was already released a few years ago on other platforms, now it is the turn of Xbox owners to squeeze the coconut as they try to solve the puzzles it contains. the title. Good news that comes with another, since these users have subscribed to the service Xbox Game Pass they will be able to benefit from the first minute of exiting these puzzles. Ready to exercise your brain?

Can I come in or wait?

In The Pedestrian we will have to guide a pretty pedestrian doll by various information boards, blackboards and panels fulfilling a series of objectives. (Yes, there is a plot based on rebuilding a console for a bigger purpose that we won’t reveal, but it’s the least). A proposal a priori simple which will become more complicated as the game includes more panels and difficulties of all kinds.

Each of these panels will have a series of doors and stairs that we need to interconnect so that our “inanimate” protagonist can move between them. Of course, there are rules in each of the challenges that we are going to find. If for example we connect the doors of two panels, then we will not be able to delete our work to link the same door in a different place. SIt is essential to mentally see the path that is best suited with the tools available at that time. This peculiarity is the one that hooks from the first minute, having to apply logic, the distribution of parts and the correct use of switches to get out of each situation brilliantly.

The switch is your friend …

It’s not a particularly difficult game, although its mechanics will have to be internalized. The last bars of the adventure become a little more difficult, where we will have to put everything we have learned into play. We will have to deal with windows that present us with a new panel, or with a green fixing gas that keeps the panel intact despite undoing the links previously made. I can understand that it’s hard to understand with words, but Thanks to a good learning curve and a smooth transition to new concepts, it won’t take long to master The Pedestrian.

Don’t let the posters fool you

There is no doubt that the game comes in through the eyes. It is no longer the fact that funds are precious and diverse, but that some of these panels that we described earlier are affected by the scenario itself. There is a point in the adventure when we will have to supply electric current through the panels for a hatch to open, in another scenario we will move through papers fixed by pins that cannot be moved, etc.

This synergy between the puzzle and the scene is very attractive, and “itches” the player to continue solving situations in order to see the next location. It’s so absorbing, that in my personal case I completed the game in one sitting in just under three hours. Although it is true that you can get more juice if we thoroughly explore each phase to locate the secret rooms. If we complete these additional phases, we will receive new “heads” to customize our “puppet” to our liking.

The pedestrian conclusion

Fans of puzzle games are probably already familiar with the artwork designed by Skookum Arts. Its original staging is completed by a few puzzles that will force us to use our heads, but without having to hang on to a guide. The playable base focused on moving panels is complemented by variations of its puzzles in such a way that we will never feel like the title is repeating itself. A short but very interesting experience that can now be enjoyed by Xbox gamers, even more so subscribers to Xbox Game Pass, where they can find this game from the day of its launch.
