It’s been quite a year for ARKS Phantasy Star Online 2! When PSO2 We started in North America back in March and promised to bring eight years of content into play at breakneck speed. Despite the many unexpected complications 2020 has brought, we’ve kept that promise to our players, and this latest (huge!) Content update is the next step in the process. We’d like to say a big thank you to all of the ARKS who have joined us this year, and hope you look forward to even more PSO2 Gosh in 2021. Let’s get to know Episode 6 first!
From today, Phantasy Star Online 2Episode 6 officially launched worldwide on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. This is the last chapter of PSO2The epic story that took us across the galaxy, to an alternate version of Earth, into the high fantasy realm of Omega, and finally back to the Oracle fleet for a final showdown. If ARKS have hope of victory, they must work with allies old and new to defeat Shiva and her armada of annihilation!

Story overview
Returning home after her success in the alternate dimension: Omega, a new enemy appears. Known as the goddess of annihilation, the mysterious Shiva ARKS declares total war. With an enormous fleet of spacecraft, powerful monsters, and heavily armored enemies called the Luminmech, Shiva’s power in the universe is undeniable. However, the heroes of Fleet Oracle have several aces up their sleeves, including the AIS Vega, a powerful and extremely agile mech suit that can go head to toe with Shiva’s armed forces. Who will win? It’s up to ARKS to save the day!
Two new classes – Phantom and Etoile
Not one, but two new classes come into play today! Critical new additions to Episode 6, the Phantom and Etoile classes, bring brand new fighting styles and skills to the ARKS ranks.
Similar to the hero class introduced in Episode 5, the Phantom masters all forms of combat, including melee, ranged, and magic. Unlike the hero, however, the phantom relies on agility and fluid movement with the katana, rifle, and rod. This new class also receives explosive damage potential if it attacks the same enemy multiple times thanks to the “Phantom Marker” function. If you loved to play as a hero but wished it had just a little more Edge (and scythes!), the phantom is for you!
The Etoile is a unique class PSO2that his focus is on supporting party members rather than their own offensive or defensive skills. Equipped with support skills that charge HP and PP, as well as those that shorten their allies’ casting times, the Etoile is a welcome and valued member of any group. The Etoile is not without its own combat skills, however, as it uses the double saber, soaring blades, and wand weapon types in a unique way from other classes. The Etoile is a long-awaited class for many PSO2 Veterans, and we’re excited to finally put it in the hands of the players!
New ultra-hard difficulty added
Together with her armada, Shiva brings new, more powerful enemies to the planets Naverious, Lillipa, Wopal and Harukotan. These locations now offer UH (Ultra Hard) missions called Risk Exploration on a bicycle basis. While these missions are available, classic enemies will appear in an “Ultra Enemy” form with new powers and evolutions. Return to older locations for these reimagined battles!
Christmas has come PSO2
It turns out that Santa’s sleigh is working in space since Christmas has come PSO2! Players can earn unique Christmas weapon camos like the Cariboom (a rifle camo that looks suspiciously like a stuffed reindeer) and the Snowman Cannon (a rocket launch camouflage that sounds just like that). Not to mention a Santa Rappy Mag Evolution device! Additionally, the Merry Christmas On Ice Urgent Quest provides players with powerful weapon rewards for completing the vacation-themed mission. And what would the Ho-Ho holiday celebration be without ARKS ‘favorite diva? Quna will be back on the Fleet Oracle stage to play the show “Eternal Encore (Christmas Version)”!
