This is a new step towards the arrival of Activision Blizzard in the hands of Microsoft. The acquisition, announced earlier this year, seems to be going well with the announcement this Sunday. This comes from a simple tweet from the GAC (General Authority of Competition) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The General Competition Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia declares that it has completed the process of economic concentration between:
– Microsoft Corporation
– Activision Blizzard, Inc.
For now, Microsoft appears to be sticking to its extended schedule of almost a year and a half. In April, Activision Blizzard shareholders validated the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of the first half of 2023.
However, some pitfalls can still disrupt Phil Spencer’s projects. Other competition authorities have yet to decide on the takeover, a process that could take several months. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is still reviewing the project. The European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil and other countries must also transmit their decisions.
At the same time, the human question regularly arises. Activision Blizzard was the subject of allegations a few months ago, even aimed at its executives. Shareholders have also requested the release of an annual report on possible harassment situations. The topic is observed especially after the news of the last few years around the studio.
However, the buyer assured a few months ago that he was confident. Surely this new move will reassure Microsoft in this position pending more similar announcements.
