Electronic Arts and Maxis have released a new update for The Sims 4 to make the game even more inclusive. The new feature gives English version players the ability to customize the pronouns of the Sims they create. Other languages will also be supported in the future.
Inclusion has been a core value of The Sims for more than 22 years, and the team believes diversity drives both innovation and community. It was extremely important for the development team to implement the pronoun feature well. It therefore worked closely with the It Gets Better Project and GLAAD to better understand the use and influence of pronouns, and where only binary gender representations have occurred in The Sims 4 so far.
Starting today, players can experience the first version of the cus tomizable pronouns update in the English version of the game. The first update is just a step towards a more inclusive experience for all Simmers. The team plans to continually improve and update the feature to support more languages in the future.
