The Yakuza Remastered Collection hits Xbox Game Pass today and brings Sega classics Yakuza 3, 4th, and 5 restored in glorious HD for Xbox Game Pass members!
The first of three games in this collection, Yakuza 3, from where takes the events from Yakuza Kiwami 2 omitted (also available on Xbox Game Pass). But for those who just swear into the family, the games provide just the right amount of context in which to sum up important events. If you’ve played recently Yakuza: Like a dragon, This is your opportunity to experience Kamurocho through the eyes of the dragon of Dojima.
The Yakuza Titles in this collection are all brutal and flashy action brawler games. Master multiple martial arts, weapons, and ferocious heat actions that reward quick reactions with great damage and exaggerated movements! Resourceful fighters can arm their surroundings, swing bicycles in the street, or luxury furniture as they storm a yakuza headquarters uninvited.
Yakuza 3, 4th, and 5 (all available with Xbox Game Pass) follow individual stories in the saga of Kazuma Kiryu – a steely yakuza with an indomitable spirit and a heart of gold – as he navigates through the complex politics of the Japanese underworld and the actions, betrayal and Navigated tragedies. From the home of the Tojo clan in Tokyo to the tropical retreat of Okinawa, Kiryu will travel across Japan as the conflict unfolds.
Here’s what you’re getting into:
- Yakuza 3: Kazuma Kiryu, his heart at peace, abandons his yakuza life to run an orphanage on the breezy and idyllic coast of Okinawa. But when the land it’s on becomes a dispute between politicians, local gangs and the Tojo clan, Kiryu’s past shows his ugly head and he has to choose a side.
- Yakuza 4: In the absence of the Dojima Dragon, Kamurocho becomes a jungle without a king, and a power struggle has been brewing behind the scenes since an infamous hit job surfaced in 1984. See events through the eyes of Shun Akiyama, a loan shark known as the “lifeline of Kamurocho,” Taiga Saejima, who has to escape prison to grapple with his past, Masayoshi Tanimura, a police officer on the wrong side of the world Law, and Kazuma Kiryu, who finds himself embroiled in the events that have shaped his life today.
- Yakuza 5: The Omi Alliance is on the verge of a war of succession. To prevent this, the sixth chairman of the Tojo clan, Daigo Dojima, tries to unite the Yakuza from all over Japan. The echo of this underground power struggle reaches five playable characters: Kazuma Kiryu, who is lying as a taxi driver in Fukuoka, Taiga Saejima, who is returning to prison to finish what he started, Shun Akiyama, who lends a customer more money than you think , Haruka Sawamura, who dreams of becoming an idol, and Tatsuo Shinada, an embarrassed baseball star, who is over his head. Five characters, five cities and five dreams merge into an explosive conclusion.
Of course, there is more to yakuza life than just punches. With Kiryu you will explore real Japanese cities that have been faithfully recreated in detail, play crazy mini-games and help citizens in sub-stories, which in turn can help Kiryu in unexpected ways.
