With Hela, a new game from the Unravel makers was presented at Gamescom 2024.

Knights Peak and Windup Games announce Hela, a heartwarming 3rd person open world adventure inspired by Scandinavian folklore. Developed by the creators of Unravel, Hela is the debut title from the studio comprised of industry veterans and new talent.

“Hela is a game that wants to show happy moments. The world feels very authentic to our team and will hopefully be something completely new for a larger audience as well,” says Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Windup Games. “We want to bring to life this playful and whimsical world that surrounds us, but also make sure it feels serious and heartfelt and ultimately weaves a very meaningful story for our players.”

The agreement includes exclusive worldwide rights for Knights Peak to distribute Hela on all major platforms worldwide for PC and consoles. Exact details on which platforms the game will be developed for will be announced at a later date.

Eugenio Vitale, Vice President of Publishing at Knights Peak, adds: “I’m really excited that we can support the creative people behind Hela. Their previous games and what we’ve seen from Hela have so much charm and authenticity that I just had to work with them on our label. We share many of the same values when it comes to what makes good games, and it’s a dream come true that we’re doing our part to bring their next game to life.”

The heartwarming debut trailer was released exclusively as part of the gamescom opening:
