Although the Xbox community in particular has always been dissatisfied with the methods of the Game Awards and its leader, Geoff Keighley’s, constant demonstrations of his clear favoritism towards anything from PlayStation, this year we may have a new opportunity to seeing how the rules, schedules, and whatever else is “tailored” to again benefit one party more than another. Because change matters, reports say The Game Awards website itselfin the FAQ section, DLCs, expansions, Remasters and Remakes are now eligible for nomination in one of the categories, allowing, for example, titles such as the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, the from Starfield, Shattered Space or even a visitor like the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster.
This will depend on the assessment of the judges themselves.

Because compared to remasters and remakes, in some cases we could accept, like last year, the case of Resident Evil 4 Remake, which has changed so much compared to the original, that it could well be considered a new game. This way, minor titles will have less chance of being nominatedwhile the larger ones, if they become popular enough, could occupy categories previously populated by new titles, which is ultimately what it’s all about.
