The future of Starfield looks bright.
Bethesda’s Todd Howard appeared on the MrMattyPlays YouTube channel, where he confirmed that Starfield will have a second year of content and another paid expansion after the Shattered Space DLC in 2024.
Howard’s first mention of a “second year” for Starfield This came during a segment in which he talked about the game’s recent June update, explaining that there might be “more of a gap” until the next big update:
“There will probably be more gaps after this, there will be bigger gaps next year as we look at those big ‘Year Two’ surprises that we’re planning for…”
Following this, MrMattyPlays asked about expansion plans after Shattered Space, wondering if an annual strategy might be on his mind. Howard confirmed that at least we’ll get a second one:
“I would say we want to have annual expansions, more or less, yes. How long it lasts, I don’t know, but let’s hope it’s long. However, we are already planning the next one, so there will definitely be another one.
Shattered Space is obviously the center of attention right now and Howard noted during the interview that the film will primarily take place in one city.comparing it “in terms of content” to Fallout 4’s Far Harbor expansion.
