Todd Howard was initially against Troy Baker

Todd Howard initially opposed Troy Baker as the voice in the action-adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The archaeologist Dr. Jones is originally voiced by Troy Baker in the action adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Baker has lent his voice to countless characters in video games and is also an actor.

But executive producer Todd Howard, who is responsible for the story, actually didn’t want the well-known and experienced voice actor for the lead role.

In an interview with Rolling Stones Baker said there was an initial Zoom call where Howard told him he didn’t want him in the iconic role.

Howard said, “We felt like we had to cast a pretty wide net for this project and the time period in which it’s set.”

In the end, hundreds of people were invited to audition for the role. The fact that Baker got it after all was probably because in blind tests people always chose his vote, as Howard revealed.

In the German version of the game, Indy is voiced by Florian Clyde.
