One of the surprises of the evening was the first teaser of the project that Kojima Productions is preparing in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios, called “OD”. Although it’s just acronyms, it completely coincides with the title leaked almost a year ago, which they called “Overdose”. However, the apparent display of terror with the faces of the three actors speaking on screen seems to hide the double intention already typical of Hideo Kojima in revealing the trailers of his titles.
The message that appeared later was “For all players and Screamers”, the latter referring to the Anglicism meaning “people who scream”. But with little research into the trailer, it all starts leading us to PT, that famous and almost legendary playable teaser that anticipated a Silent Hills sequel and has pretty much laid the groundwork for the horror genre ever since. First, Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele They appeared on stage through a door identical to the one that appears in PT
OD takes us to PT and this to Silent Hills
However, the least obvious and least interesting clue comes from CentralXboxBR, some Brazilian colleagues who in a tweet point out that unique letters appear in certain frames. If you put all the letters together, they form the word “Atami”, which is a town in Shizuoka and which in Japanese is written “静岡”. And although our colleagues have already proposed it translated, we have also verified it on our side and in fact, the first symbol means “Calm or silent” and the second, “hill or hill”. In other words, SILENT HILL.

We’re guessing that if you’ve read this far and are a fan of Hideo Kojima’s games or were fascinated by PT back in the day, you’ve gone crazy over this reveal, and we’re not going to deny it, we We were also the same. Will OD be a horror game like this? Given the graphic revolution implied by the use of the Unreal Engine and its Metahuman system, as seen in the trailer, we would be, as Kojima assures, faced with a game never seen before.
