The Mortal Kombat 1 trailer presented at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 confirms the rumors about new characters.
Rumors about the new characters in the Mortal Kombat 1 roster have been circulating for quite a while. At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, NetherRealm Studios put an end to them for now by releasing another trailer.
In the trailer you can see Omni-Man from Invincible, Homelander from The Boys and Peacemaker from Suicide Squads. The boys will be the first characters in the first post-release Kombat DLC pack, which according to previous leaks will also give you access to Quan-Chi, Errmac, and Takeda.
As you can see, the creation of the characters was not based directly on the comic templates. For example, Homelander is a 1:1 reproduction of the successful Amazon series. With Peacemaker, however, it is clear that John Cena is hiding under the mask.
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released September 19th and is available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam/Epic Games). Those who pre-order will also get access to the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, which will be available in August 2023.
