Hello, Xbox Wire readers! Fred Hoffman here, the better of the two brothers behind it
Newfangled games. I can’t believe it, but we’re publishing Paper trail on Xbox One and Xbox Series on May 21st. If that sounds too far out for you, then I have good news – we now have a shiny new demo available! It’s only available from now until our launch on May 21st, so make sure you get it while you can!
An enchanting world full of sophisticated puzzles awaits you: take the fabric of reality, fold it like paper and embark on a magical journey like no other! You play the role of Paige, an aspiring academic and the first in her family to be accepted into university. The problem? Your parents don’t want you to go. Using your secret origami powers (that’s totally fine), you’ll leave the confines of your home to find your own way in the world.
The game includes an entire interactive picture book. As you move further from home, fragments of memory return and must be pieced together to weave the stories of your past, present and future together. We won’t go into spoilers too much here, but it’s a story that’s personal to us – and one we think a lot of people will relate to.
Your adventure will take you through many beautiful hand-painted locations, from sun-drenched ruins to rain-swept forests. Each new area offers quirky characters, hidden secrets and unexpected, puzzling twists. Discover ancient patterns, connect magical circles, overcome dizzying heights and explore long-forgotten depths as you travel the world Paper trail!
I went from wrestling with my brother’s controller to turning it on gloriole as a child; Publ ishing our own game together on Xbox is a dream come true. Five years ago we had the idea for a little paper folding game that took us around the world and back to where it all began. So if you have a sibling, tell them it’s your turn on the family console and play Paper trail
