Hello Xbox fans! We’re D’Avekki Studios, a game studio run by myself, Lynda Cowles and my husband Tim Cowles. We’re big fans of full motion video (FMV) games and TV shows, and we’re excited to bring the two together Dark nights with Poe and Munro, today for Xbox.
in the Poe and Munro You play through a full season of six episodes of supernatural horror as you lead radio hosts Poe and Munro past stalkers, ghosts, and talking paintings as you try to keep them (and their relationship) alive as best you can. Unlike other games of the genre, which are often heavily text-dependent, the choices you make are shown as hotspots on the screen, so in some cases we were able to see eight options at once!
Get six episodes at once
From the beginning of development, we knew that we would deliver all six episodes at once. We didn’t want players to have to pay for each episode, we wanted to experience it all at once. Most episodes last around 20 minutes, with a pair being twice as long, but all of them can be repeated multiple times as the storylines branch and choice is important.
Are Decisions Really Important?
Yes! It’s hard to explain without a spoiler, but let’s just say that at the beginning of the sixth episode there is a very easy decision to make when Poe grant a wish. Depending on your choices, you’ll experience a completely different second half than this episode. In fact, you’ll need to play the game at least four times to see all of the footage (which is almost five hours long!).
Player Audience Ratings
At the end of each episode, you’ll see a statistics screen that compares your choices with all of your Xbox colleagues. This means you can see how many of you have saved a toy bunny instead of Munro (unfortunately no more spoilers!)
Video killed the radio stars
While it isn’t impossible to kill Poe or Munro during the game, a restart is not required and everything is neatly cleaned up by the end of each episode. And while you need to play the episodes in the correct order at the beginning, they can be played in any order after they play. When you’ve finished the entire season, you can unlock a jump feature that will make every binge faster. Yes, binge – because we hope Dark nights with Poe and Munro will be like one of your favorite series!
