Two long years have passed since we could stream directly to Xbox via Mixer. Since it closed in 2020, the option to stream from our consoles was by downloading and accessing the Twitch app and clicking Stream. While admittedly it wasn’t a long or complicated process, many of us missed the option of a program already integrated into the Xbox ecosystem that would shorten the streaming process and allow something faster and more direct.
Well finally Xbox has once again gained support for streaming to Twitch directly through console options. It comes back after five years. And it is this, it must be remembered, that it already existed before. Twitch was integrated into Xbox until 2017, when Microsoft, trying to boost its Mixer streaming platform, removed that capability and left Mixer as the primary streaming method.
Thanks to a post on his BlogXbox explains how to live stream from the console. We recommend taking a quick look if you intend to use this option. All you need is an active Twitch account logged in through Xbox. From there we can use our existing 1080p webcam with YUY2 or NV12 formats and set the bit rate.
We leave you with a video of the journalist Thomas W.Arren, from the prestigious media The edge showing off this new feature that is about to reach us all, with the next console firmware update. From Xbox Area, we inform you of all the news of your favorite console.
