According to a source frominsider gamingYves Guillemot’s company is to develop two games in the Far Cry universe. One would be the seventh part and the other would be a multiplayer game.
Far Cry 7 is now known internally as Project Blackbird, while the multiplayer experience is known as Project Maverick – both projects would benefit from a strong involvement from Ubisoft Montreal. Also, the multiplayer game would look like The Division. Insider Gaming has learned that the game will be set in the Alaskan wilderness and will be an extraction-based shooter with mechanics like permadeath, sackbacks, contracts, etc.
Far Cry 7 is more mysterious. Having said that, it’s very likely that it’s also set in Alaska since those two works would be from the same game.
At the moment all this information is just rumors! Of course, you have to take it with a grain of salt. Even though this game is in the pipeline, it could be out in a couple of years.
