Ubisoft speaks out on the arrival of its Xbox subscription and the comparison with Game Pass

Just a few hours ago, my colleague Pedro told you about the arrival of Ubisoft+ on Xbox consoles. The service currently offers no less than 65 games in total. Some you might like more than others, but of course there’s no denying that the Ubisoft+ catalog is generally good.

The subscription price is approx. almost 15 dollarsand gives you access to certain games on the Microsoft console. with your subscription You can also access over 100 games on PC, so if you have both platforms you’ll likely get more performance out of it.

Ubisoft+ versus Game Pass

Obviously, and although one more new option is always welcome, it was inevitable for Xbox users to buy what the French service offers with the Xbox Game Pass. The difference in offer and price is overwhelming in favor of the Redmond subscription. And it is that the price of Ubisoft + is higher than that of Game Pass, and only offers 65 games on the console compared to the more than 400 that Game Pass offers.

El director of Ubisoft Plus, Philippe Tremblay, defended your department qualifying this its differentiating value is the quality of its games. A valid argument, but which may not convince everyone.

It’s still pretty new overall, we have other subscription offers, especially from Xbox and other partners. I think the key point, as we see in many other industries, is that content is central to what the consumer wants. That’s what we’re introducing again with Ubisoft+, that’s the great content behind it. This is the point of differentiation that we bring.

Providing access to all of our titles means we can help players discover our other franchises. People might know us from Assassin’s Creed, people might know us from Far Cry and Tom Clancy titles, but there might be other titles they didn’t associate with us. This is an opportunity for them to get started.

Hopefully the French company’s games don’t end up landing on Game Pass, it would make perfect sense for Ubisoft to focus on continuing to add value to its service.
