The action game, in which players as protagonist Haroona stop a secret society from gaining control of ancient knowledge and the fate of humanity, is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (via Steam). .
Unknown 9: Awakening transports players to the beginning of the 20th century and takes them on a global mission to prevent humanity’s hidden secrets from falling into the wrong hands. Actress Anya Chalotra portrays the protagonist Haroona, making her first appearance in a video game.
The game tells the story of the young Quaestor Haroona, who was born with the ability to delve into the Breach – a mysterious dimension that intersects with our world. In search of lost knowledge, she learns to master this power and apply it in our world. But her powers do not go unnoticed and Haroona quickly becomes the target of the Rising Stars, a splinter group of the secret Leap Year Society who want to use the breach to change the course of human history.
Mastering Haroona’s shadow abilities is the key to defeating the upstarts responsible for her mentor’s murder. Players can attack their enemies from the shadows, engage them in close combat, or use the shadow jumping ability to take control of them and pit them against each other. These abilities also provide various ways to dodge attacks, protect yourself from bullets, use energy, and perform creative combat combinations.
