As with so many multiplayer games, the best things are there Walheim happen when you play with your friends. Sometimes you mess up, sometimes you triumph, and sometimes you come out by a tiny margin – but you make it together. We’ve been thinking back to some multiplayer experiences players have shared with us, from daring adventures to humble days on their homesteads, and thought you might recognize yourself in some of them…
Maybe you’ve been sailing along the coast with your friends and spotted a peaceful looking village in the meadows. You have a sneaking suspicion that something is wrong and you’ve told your friends “I think this place is already taken,” but still you sailed closer and closer. You had barely got out of the boat when the panicked people screamed at the village chief, a draugr elite, and you did your best to push the boat back into the water to escape you. You were that close too, but the draugr defeated you all and you had to stage an elaborate ambush to reclaim your gear.
Or maybe you know what it’s like to finally tame those beautiful boars and give them carefully chosen names (Boaris and Hamlet) but your pal just wanted to slaughter them for good meat. As you were walking around tending to your base, you suddenly noticed that the boar pens seemed… a bit empty. “Wait, where’s Hamlet?”
Or maybe you remember a time when you managed to get stuck in the mountains. You had nothing to eat and no armor or cloak to keep you warm against the biting winds. Stepping out of the ramshackle shack would mean certain death. But your friends were determined to save you and embarked on a most daring rescue mission – fighting the cold by building campfire after campfire. They made their way to your hideout, braving both the weather and dangerous beasts to escort you safely home. That’s the kind of loyalty you can’t forget.
