Besides being the most played game for Phil Spencer in 2022, Vampire Survivors has a great story to tell. Galante released the full version of the game in October 2022 and has since garnered over 165,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews and a nomination for Best Indie Game Debut at The Game Awards.
In interview with IGNGalante admits that the success of the title scares him a bit and he has no idea why the game is so popular.

The developer spoke in very sincere words and explained his feelings for what he is experiencing with his creation:
Since launch, I don’t want to look at numbers or people’s comments, so I don’t get too excited. I put my head down and continued to work on the game and the business focusing exclusively on the feedback that players sent to me via the Steam and Discord forums.
If you haven’t had a chance to play this indie gem yet, remember it’s available through Xbox Game Pass and as a warning, it doesn’t hurt to point out that once you’ve played the first game, you’ll be completely hooked on the title. Believe me, I checked it out with my own eyes.
