In recent times, the news related to acquisitions of studios and large companies has become a constant. Rumors multiply, and more and more companies are looking to grow with staff already experienced in the industry. Microsoft’s unexpected acquisition of Bethesda is a case in point. Playstation did the same back then with Insomniac as well, and this time the one on the move is no more and no less than Activision-Blizzard. The North American company announced that Vicarious Visions merges with Blizzard division.

The new role of Vicarious Visions

Vicarious Visions has been noticed thanks to his latest works. For those who don’t know, it was the studio in charge of developing the remakes of Crash Bandicoot N´Sane Trilogy and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 + 2. This means that the studio will take over Blizzard’s future work, supporting possible remakes or even completely new games. According to the company, the New York-based studio will be “entirely dedicated to existing Blizzard games and initiatives” from now on. Director of the Vicarious Visions studio, Jen Oneal, will now become Executive Vice President of Development at Blizzard. Simon Ebejer will be the head of the study.
