Our Gamescom host has given for many things, among which we highlight our impressions of titles such as Pentiment or The Callisto Protocol. We also had the opportunity to work with our Xbox Generation colleagues in an interview with Glen Schofieldcreator of The Callisto Protocol, where we asked him about your opinion on xbox and if we would see his new game at some point in Game Pass.
Glen Schofield: “I can’t tell you, we’ve talked about it and I think we’ll give it some time. We want to see how the sales go for a while, but listen, we’re great friends with Phil Spencer and he’s very interested in gaming. And we’re very interested in Microsoft, we’ve done some really cool things with Xbox , like Ray Tracing on Xbox Series X. We’ve used a lot of Microsoft technology and they’ve been very helpful, they’re great partners.
A new trend in the industry
Finally, we asked for your opinion on new industry trend in “game on demand” with the main AAA versions available at launch on subscription services. A practice already well established in the film and television sector with big premieres full of industry stars such as The Irishman
G: “That’s a good question, I usually see a lot of content on streaming platforms, and the truth is, you see some really, really bad stuff there too. There are some really terrible things going on deep in their content, and even though they have great content from time to time, they usually don’t live up to Hollywood because they don’t have a lot of money.”
“Games are really expensive to make, a lot. If we could make games cheaply, I still don’t know how, I would see this production path feasible if companies had a lot of money. Obviously Microsoft is a company who has the resources to do it, in fact they’re already doing it in a sense, they’re buying giant corporations, so it’s possible this is going to happen.
