Sonic, our favorite blue hedgehog, had a great year. Not in vain, 2022 was the time when we were able to enjoy Sonic 2, a sequel film that continues to receive very good reviews, an animated series and two impressive platformers such as Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers. But that seems to be just the tip of the iceberg.
Especially since the boss of the franchise has confirmed that in 2023 we will have even more Sonic.
We will have a lot more Sonic in 2023
Although we’ll still have to wait until 2024 for the third movie, next year we’ll see the arrival of an ambitious season pass for Sonic Frontiers, which will include new playable characters and new story missions. But that won’t be the only content we’ll have from Sonic, as the franchise’s head confirmed much more can be expected.
Last year (2022) was the biggest year in Sonic history, starting with the movie sequel, followed by the release of the new Sonic Origins and Frontiers games and the Netflix animation of Sonic Prime. This year (2023) we are preparing a second wave that will delight fans and maintain this momentum. We’ve already announced new content for Sonic Frontiers, but there’s plenty more to come, so stay tuned.
As for what’s to come, everything points to it being, at least in part, a new Lego set based on the blue hedgehog. Content that has already leaked on the networks but is not yet official. Also, we could have more than one surprise in terms of new games or series for television.
