Customize your battle with the content editor
In the coming days we will be delving deeper into the newest tool that will change the way you fight in Age of Empires IV – the Content Editor. the Content Editor for Age of Empires IV (Beta) will be your one stop shop for custom gaming. Want to create your own highly specialized map? Want to play with a french knight overpowered to the nth degree? With this tool at your fingertips, you have a full say in the gameplay.
We’ll take a closer look at some of the mods created in-house by the development team, as well as some of the more specific features of the Content Editor (Beta), along with helpful tips on how to get started creating your own mod. Also, stay tuned for an upcoming live stream as we chat with the development team about the content editor (beta), mods, and maps.
All about seasons
After that, it’s all about Seasons! seasons one Age of Empires IV consists of new content and rewards that you can achieve and unlock over a period of time. This includes both ranked seasons for those who want to take on the challenge of climbing the competitive ladder, as well as seasonal events where you can unlock rewards by completing in-game challenges.
We’ll be previewing these soon, including the type of challenges and rewards that will be available when the update goes live!
Balance and game updates
There will be a whole host of balance and quality of life changes coming with the Season One update, including global build queue, hotkey improvements, and more. Stay tuned for the full release notes as they go live when the update is released.
That’s not all – there are also two additions to the Age of Empires IV Line-up including a brand new Advanced Combat Art of War challenge aimed at preparing you for more complex combat scenarios, as well as the new MegaRandom map.
