Game Pass subscribers on Xbox and PC have access to BlackOps 6 at launch (October 25th) if they are actively subscribed to select Game Pass plans (Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, Game Pass Console). Plus, they also include the same pre-order benefits!
Below you will find explanations of Game Pass’s offerings (for the uninitiated) as well as BlackOps 6 Edition, which you have access to with any Game Pass plan, as well as information on upgrading to the Vault Edition, which offers exceptional value.
What is Game Pass?
Available to any Xbox and PC gamer with a Microsoft account, Game Pass is a monthly subscription service that lets you play new games and enjoy hundreds of high-quality games with friends across console and PC. With new games being added all the time, there’s always something new to play.
And now, active subscribers to select Game Pass plans can enjoy the same pre-order benefits and same-day game access as those who pre-order the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle on console or pre-purchase the Standard Edition on PC.

Game Pass plans and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
There are four Game Pass plans you can subscribe to. Here are the BlackOps 6 Game elements you can access:
- Game Pass Ultimate: This offers the greatest flexibility as it allows you to BlackOps 6 Campaign, as well as online Multiplayer and Zombies modes on your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles and on PC. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have access to the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle on Xbox consoles and the Standard Edition on PC from the Microsoft Store.
- Game Pass PC: Play the BlackOps 6 Campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies online modes on your PC. Game Pass PC subscribers have access to the Standard Edition on the PC Microsoft Store.
- Game Pass Console: Play the BlackOps 6 Campaign only on your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles. Online Console Multiplayer Access (sold separately) is required to play the online Multiplayer and Zombies modes on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles. Game Pass Console subscribers must upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate or additionally subscribe to Game Pass Core (sold separately) to access these modes. Game Pass Console subscribers have access to the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle on Xbox consoles.
- Game Pass Core: Game Pass Core includes online multiplayer access to the console, which is required to play BlackOps 6 Online modes (multiplayer and zombies) on Xbox consoles, but does not entitle you to access the full game. Also note that all the benefits of Game Pass Core are included in the Game Pass Ultimate plan.
If you subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC or Game Pass Console before BlackOps 6 launches on October 25th, you can also access the following pre-order benefits:
- Woods Operator Pack (Pre-Order Benefit)
- Early access to the open beta (pre-order benefit)
To access the Woods Operator Pack, subscribers to the three Game P ass plans mentioned above must sign up to Call of Duty:
For early access to the Open Beta, Game Pass subscribers of the three plans listed above should watch for future communications regarding Open Beta dates. Active subscribers of these plans will be able to play the Open Beta during the Early Access period (Game Pass Console subscribers may need to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate or additionally subscribe to Game Pass Core, sold separately, to play online Open Beta content).
If you are not a Game Pass subscriber, you can subscribe to an eligible Game Pass plan (Ultimate, PC, or Console) before October 25th.th and follow the instructions above to access the pre-order benefits.
Game Pass Subscribers: Open Beta and Launch Schedule:
Xbox: Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass Console subscribers will be able to download the Open Beta during the Early Access period and the full game at launch from their Xbox console. Game Pass Console subscribers will need to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate or additionally subscribe to Game Pass Core (sold separately) to play online content.
PCs: Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass PC subscribers can download the open beta during the Early Access period and the full game upon release from the PC Microsoft Store.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 The dates for the open beta will be announced at a later date.
Game Pass: Vault Edition Upgrade
As a Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC or Game Pass Console subscriber, you also have the option to upgrade to the BlackOps 6 Vault Edition of the game for $30 or the equivalent in your region (suggested retail price). The Vault Edition upgrade gives players access to all of the Vault Edition benefits previously described in this blog:

Cancel your Game Pass subscription and get access to Black Ops 6
If you subsequently cancel Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC or Game Pass Console without BlackOps 6you will lose access to the title, but you can regain it by BlackOps 6 or by re-subscribing to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console.
