Similar to American football, the aim of Blood Bowl is to score more touchdowns than your opponent. However, the path to achieving this goal differs slightly, including the umpire’s more liberal handling of fouls.

- To create a game that will delight the core fans who have loved Blood Bowl for decades. We owe it to them to meet their expectations.

The Solo Campaign
In the new solo campaign Clash of Sponsors, players are invited to follow an agent’s advice and take part in various competitions organized by sponsors while competing against their best teams and star players.
This theme was also chosen for playful reasons. Contrary to blood bowl 2, we wanted players to be able to create their team based on any faction, giving more flexibility and allowing players to enjoy their favorite factions or become familiar with others. This way you can learn the basics of Blood Bowl while enjoying the different scenarios, gaining experience and preparing before meeting other players online if that’s what you want. Or you can just enjoy the solo content offline with a variation of teams apart from simple matches against AI.
Easy to play, difficult to master
Blood Bowl is a very deep tactical game. That’s never going to change, because that’s what Blood Bowl is all about… well, Blood Bowl! However, we felt that a lot could be done to help new players understand the game. We wanted blood bowl 3 Having the slogan “easy to play, hard to master”.
One of the first things we did to that end was to simplify the user interface. We wanted it to be simple and clear about what’s important given the variety of content. A new player could easily get confused with all the different leagues, tournaments and leaderboards, each with different rules. This could make them give up when they might be the next number one Blood Bowl Champion!
With the new interface, new and returning players will find what they’ve been looking for with ease. This attention has also been paid to the different menus such as team building or formation, which in addition to being simpler will save you a lot of time from one game to another by being able to save your different formations.
These are small quality of life improvements that, once put together, will make a real difference blood bowl 3. As for the topic of saving time, one of the main things that we thought was important was the change in game duration.
We wanted to give players more flexibility so they don’t feel obliged to commit to a long specific amount of time whenever they want to play a game.
With that in mind, we’ve done our best to shorten the length of a game while retaining all aspects that give a Blood Bowl game its identity. We are quite happy with the result as in some cases we managed to halve the duration of a game.
One of the main features that make this possible is the turn timer. Players have less time available per round, with an allotted time bank allowing some flexibility in rounds that require creative thinking or more action. For comparison, while blood bowl 2 gave players 4 minutes per round, blood bowl 3 halves that time and gives 2 minutes per spin, with a total of 7 minutes and 30 seconds to allocate spins longer than 2 minutes. This makes for more dynamic games and keeps you more involved in the game even when you’re not playing.
We hope all of this encourages players to try blood bowl 3 when it launches on February 23rd, and open the door to discover its depth in a gentler way so they can see just how awesome Blood Bowl is and what it has to offer!
