POCKET PAIR boss Takuro Mizobe believes the profits from the open-world survival crafting game Palworld are too big for his studio.
In January of this year, Palworld launched its success on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Xbox Game Pass. Numerous best marks and records later, the open-world survival crafting game has a total of 25 million players across all platforms.
A huge success for developer POCKET PAIR, as Takuro Mizobe, head of the studio, said in an interview Bloomberg confirmed. The development cost less than a billion yen (US$6.7 million). On the other hand, there is a profit in the double-digit billion range.
An amount that Mizobe says he considers too large for a studio the size of POCKET PAIR. Despite the success, he has no plans to expand or offer shares in his company.
The rather small workforce of 55 employees should remain the same and not be expanded, said Mizobe. They are also open to partnerships or a takeover. However, there have not yet been any discussions with Microsoft regarding a takeover.
