PC-exclusive shooter Witchfire is delayed for a few months due to changes to its battle system.
The Astronauts announced today that its dark fantasy shooter, witch firewill be released in early 2023. It was originally scheduled to launch in Early Access on the Epic Games Store in the fourth quarter of 2022. The schedule change is due to an update to the combat system of witch fire, which changes from an arena type to an open world. A change that is not minor considering what we are talking about.
Creative director and co-founder Adrian Chmielarz shared more details in a publication from the Witchfire blog on Wednesday:
“The functionality is already 95% implemented. It makes the game better. I find it hard to imagine that the player did not have this freedom before. Of course, you can always get caught by the witch in such and such a place, and some doors will be locked until you find a key, and it may be too dangerous to enter the areas closest to the boss. before you’re ready, but the world is wide open, you can explore it in almost any order, and you can move forward or backward as you please.

recall that the game was announced in 2017 but this year it showed a trailer during the Summer Game Fest this summer which was a hit due to its elaborate gameplay. Behind witch fire are the creators of Pain killer there Bullet Storm. The game is a first-person shooter set in a dark fantasy world. This will be the second version of The astronautsafter the BAFTA-winning title, Disappearance by Ethan Carter. The astronauts assure fans that the wait for the long-awaited title will be worth it: witch fire features Unreal Engine AAA graphics with photogrammetry effects to create an immersive fantasy world and thrilling first-person shooter, now with open-world combat environments.
Chmielarz hinted that there will be more Witchfire content in October:
“Lastly and most importantly, expect something nice in a week or two. Let’s call it Witchfire Halloween Week. It won’t be about gameplay or streaming or anything like that, but if you’re interested in story, world and awesome 2D art, it’ll be a treat.”
