Daedalic Entertainment brings us a friendly puzzle game on Xbox
Daedalic Entertainment went to the Tokyo Game Show to present its 3D puzzle game in its version on Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles, in addition to 2 other titles. The PC version was playable at the Japanese event as part of the German entourage, so its mechanics could be seen.
“Woodo” takes players on a serene adventure, immersing them in a moving world through diorama-style puzzle assembly mechanics. Whether young or old, the game’s wholesome narrative will captivate players of all ages. The peaceful and creative nature of the game makes it an ideal addition to any console library.
Carsten Fichtelmann, CEO of Daedalic Entertainment, highlights the strategic importance of the Japanese market:
“Japan is one of the four most important markets in the world for us, especially when it comes to multiplatform titles on PlayStation and Switch. We’ve learned from our previous appearances at TGS that titles featured there tend to perform exceptionally well in Japan compared to the global average. With the next generation, we are preparing for significant growth in this key market.
Yullia Prohorova and Timur Bogotov are the developers of Woodo, they tell us about the game in the Web by Steam:
Gameplay
The game mechanics are very simple: you must assemble unique scenarios, piece by piece, to bring a beautiful wooden world to life. During this time, Foxy will accompany you by telling you a story related to the scene.
Our goal is for the game to convey warmth, empathy and comfort, and move from a simple puzzle game to an experience capable of improving your mood.
The game is simple at first glance, but it can imbue you with the love and security that some people need to end the day well. It is a game that can heal and support you in the same way as drinking hot tea in front of the fireplace in the company of your beloved grandmother.
Woodo does not yet have a release date for Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
