To celebrate the fifth anniversary of World of Warships: Legends, players can help preserve the USS Texas with a themed DLC.
Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the popular cross-platform naval battle title World of Warships: Legends, has released an anniversary update with lots of new content to celebrate the game’s fifth anniversary.
It includes a special charity campaign to preserve the museum ship USS Texas, an anniversary event inspired by ancient Greece, the brand new Fleet Cup, three seasons of Ranked Battles, and a traditional five-week campaign featuring the pan-European Tier VIII Premium destroyer Velos.
Special DLC and limited console to support the USS Texas
World of Warships: Legends has joined an initiative to restore and preserve the USS Texas, a former United States battleship and an important piece of naval history.
All proceeds from the ‘USS Texas Legacy’ DLC, developed for Xbox and PlayStation, will go to the Battleship Texas Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the century-old USS Texas as a historic museum ship.
In addition to the themed DLC, there is also a very special Xbox console shaped like the USS Texas, which includes a real metal piece of the ship. This exclusive console will be raffled off in North America and offers enthusiasts and supporters the unique opportunity to own a real piece of history.
The Arrow of the Aegean campaign with a pan-European premium destroyer
The classic five-week campaign includes 100 milestones and features a catch-up mechanic.
If captains complete the campaign with active support from the Admiralty, they can obtain the Tier VIII Pan-European Premium Destroyer Velos, a fast and maneuverable Fletcher-class ship with rapid-firing armament and torpedoes, additionally equipped with an improved smoke generator.
Ancient Greece-inspired birthday party and new seasons
To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Legends has prepared many special ancient-inspired events.
These include three divine captain outfits: Athena, Poseidon, and Zeus. Additionally, there is a Champion Crate that contains a random crate from the best events of the past few years, a new calendar event, a free birthday project in the office, and more.
Additionally, players can look forward to the Fleet Cup, a new exciting tournament, and three new Ranked Seasons that now feature one-on-one battles.
World of Warships on PC also welcomes new ships and adventures
The latest update for the PC version of World of Warships brings the Spanish cruiser Almirante Oquendo to the shipyard from August 7 to October 31, equipped with twelve 203 mm guns and capable of inflicting incredible damage.
A new web activity, Labyrinths of History Adventure, will be released on August 21 and will run until September 19. It puts players in the role of a British commander where they can make decisions to direct the story surrounding the expansion of the British aircraft carrier Theseus.
Added to this is further early access to French destroyers, new brawls and much more.
