Xbox 20/20: Join Us As We Look to the Future of Xbox

future, join, Xbox

What has been a one-year gaming experience – a new generation of consoles, a new wave of next-generation games, and the introduction of new game-streaming models – 2020 has been a year that has challenged us all and tested all the commitment we have made in the face of COVID-19. Hard tests often reveal your priorities, and to us the health and safety of our employees, our fans and our partners. We also want to be clear in letting our players know what we are doing and what we are thinking at such an important time.

Obviously, this year has challenged us to reconsider how we come together to celebrate the milestones in sport, and that means working on the knowledge that we might not be able to come together in one place. Having experienced firsthand the decision of Xbox players, families and friends to come together, do the right thing and stay home to help shorten the curve, we all felt empowered to reconsider our approach. How can we share this feeling of excitement and anticipation as we all enter the game's greatest moments? How can we capture and distribute that feeling when I join Team Xbox – that moment when I see what happens next.

So what is expected in 2020?

This is an important year for Xbox, with our next con-gen paving the way for all our games and services to come together in the best possible way. Here's what 2020 looks like, to begin with:

  • Our goal remains to introduce the Xbox Series X no Halo Infinite this Holiday
  • All 15 Xbox Game Studios teams are active at the upcoming Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass
  • The best development teams in the world are working hard to get their games ready to play on the Xbox Series X this holiday
  • For PC players, we plan to support the community by making all our major releases when it is available via Xbox Game Pass for PC, including Halo Infinite, Wasteland 3, Underground Pits and, Microsoft Flight Simulator.
  • We have new updates and titles reserved for the Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC
  • We're expanding Project xCloud into new countries and new devices – and later this year Project xCloud and Xbox Game Pass will meet, enabling you and your friends to play together in many ways.

There is a lot – and that means something in 2020, a year that could be called "plenty." With all this in mind, we set out to create new touchpads to celebrate the games and share them with our global community.

Xbox 20/20

Starting with the May 7 episode of Inside Xbox, we'll be showing what's happening in the Xbox world, every month, which is why we call it "Xbox 20/20." These monthly sessions will take place throughout the year and will be a way for us to engage, connect and celebrate with you about what will prepare for the next generation of games, including the next Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud. Every month will bring something different. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire for more details.

For the Xbox 20/20 May update, we will focus on giving you a preview of the next game, guests and boats from various publishing partners and independent developers across the industry and industry, including the recently announced Ubisoft Assassin & # 39; s Creed Valhalla, and hear from game creators what they do with their games on the Xbox Series X.

We will be validating games that use our new Smart Delivery feature, which ensures you always play the best game you have for your console, for generations. And all the games you'll see will be Xbox Series X Optimized, which is meant to take advantage of powerful Xbox Series X features that make games look and feel awesome, including 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second, DirectStorage, DirectX raytracing with hardware, faster load times and much more.

In July, we will give time to take a look at some amazing games from Xbox Game Studios. Most of our studio teams look forward to sharing a preview of the new gameplay, details from development teams prepared for the Xbox Series X, and announcements of the new name game. We can't wait to share this first look at what some of these groups are working on.

I have always believed that the future Team Xbox was building with its worldwide community. Joining that idea and making it a part of my personal responsibility is something I just couldn't get over when I joined the Xbox Marketing team last December and, today, I feel more confident than ever that we will be able to deliver more with the help of our community.

Stay safe and treat each other well.
