The Xbox 360 Marketplace will be discontinued and Xbox 360 codes will also no longer be valid.

As we previously reported, the Xbox 360 Marketplace is being discontinued. Already at July 29, 2024 the plug is pulled. It was also announced that all Xbox 360 codes would also no longer be valid.

So if you still have codes floating around somewhere, you should redeem them as quickly as possible.

Microsoft officially announces: “As announced in August 2023, starting July 29, 2024, purchases will no longer be supported in the Microsoft Store on Xbox 360 and on marketplace.xbox.com. This includes games, trials, add-ons, avatar items, apps, gamerpics, game trailers and videos. This also includes purchases such as Gamertag changes on Xbox 360, Game Pass Core subscriptions, in-game purchases and Microsoft Movies & TV. Games and content purchased before this date will continue to play as intended, and re-downloading of content will continue to be supported for your own content.”

“If you want to redeem codes for Xbox 360 content using your Xbox 360 console, you must redeem them in your account before July 29, 2024. After this date they can no longer be redeemed. Prepaid and subscription cards are not affected.”

Note: Backwards compatible games available on the Xbox Store will still be available.
